About
The European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) is a European network of local and regional authorities with more than 35 years of experience in urban security, prevention, social cohesion and inclusive local governance.
Efus and several of its member cities are interested in joining strong consortia as partners under the New European Bauhaus Facility 2026, particularly:
-
Destination 1 – Connecting the green transformation, social inclusion and local democracy
-
Destination 3 – Innovative funding and new business models for the transformation of neighbourhoods
What we can bring to a consortium
Efus provides a direct bridge between European research and innovation and the local authorities and neighbourhoods where solutions need to work in practice. We can:
-
mobilise local and regional authorities from our European network as pilot, demonstration and replication territories;
-
coordinate the participation of cities and local stakeholders;
-
support local diagnostics, co-creation, citizen engagement and operational testing;
-
connect research and innovative solutions with local public policies and practitioners;
-
facilitate peer learning, dissemination, policy uptake and replication across European cities;
-
support the exploitation and scaling of innovative solutions towards the local public sector.
Efus has extensive experience in European cooperation and has coordinated Horizon Europe projects as well as numerous other EU-funded projects.
For Destination 1, we are particularly interested in projects connecting neighbourhood transformation, social inclusion, citizen participation, well-being and local governance.
For Destination 3, we are interested in initiatives developing innovative and sustainable models to finance and scale neighbourhood transformation, where Efus and its members can contribute the perspective of local public authorities and help test the applicability and uptake of solutions at territorial level.
We are looking to join an existing or emerging consortium rather than coordinate a proposal, and would be particularly interested in connecting with coordinators looking for a strong European network able to mobilise cities and provide real-life environments for co-creation, testing, validation and replication.
