Austrian energy and financing partner seeking BUSINESS-02 consortium

e7 energy innovation & engineering is an Austrian research and consulting company specialising in the transition towards climate-neutral buildings and neighbourhoods.

We are seeking to join a consortium preparing a proposal for HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-BUSINESS-02: “Understanding capital market dynamics for increased investment in New European Bauhaus projects in neighbourhoods”. e7 does not intend to coordinate the proposal but would be interested in participating as a project partner.

Our potential contributions include:

• financing and business models for integrated neighbourhood projects;

• technical-economic assessment and development of investment cases;

• decarbonisation strategies for buildings and neighbourhoods;

• local heating, cooling and low-temperature energy networks;

• analysis of costs, revenues, risks and stakeholder roles;

• translation of environmental and social benefits into viable investment models.

We can also contribute a concrete neighbourhood case study in an Austrian city. The case includes the planned step-by-step development of shared heating and cooling infrastructure across several properties and stakeholders. Key questions concern upfront investment, different development timelines, connection risks, ownership and operator models, and the allocation of costs, benefits and risks.

e7 has extensive experience in Austrian and European research and implementation projects, including the LIFE projects LEVERAGE and HEATogether.
