About

The Estonian University of Life Sciences is interested in joining a consortium preparing a proposal for HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-REGEN-02.

The Chair of Rural Building and Water Management can contribute as a research, testing and technical validation partner for the sustainable maintenance and repair of existing buildings.

Our expertise and potential contribution include:

  • technical condition assessment of existing buildings and structures;

  • hygrothermal assessment of building envelopes and materials;

  • indoor climate, temperature, relative humidity and CO₂ measurements;

  • thermography and airtightness testing;

  • non-destructive assessment of existing timber structures;

  • physical and mechanical testing of timber, concrete, composite and natural building materials;

  • laboratory and in-situ testing of natural and bio-based insulation materials;

  • monitoring and validation of maintenance, repair and renovation solutions;

  • demonstration and performance assessment in a cold and humid climate.

We are looking for a proposal coordinator or consortium developing LCA-based predictive maintenance tools and sustainable repair measures for existing buildings. We are particularly interested in contributing to a work package related to building diagnostics, monitoring, material performance, technical validation or demonstration.

We are also interested in cooperation with partners who can provide heritage buildings or social and affordable housing demonstration sites.
