NEB-2026-01-PARTICIPATION-02: Romanian community and animal-welfare partner for inclusive public spaces

No Limit Pets is a Romanian civil society organisation established in 2018 and based in Bacău County. We operate two large animal welfare centres with a multidisciplinary team and a network of approximately 100 volunteers. Our work includes animal welfare, behavioural rehabilitation, responsible adoption, volunteering, community education and non-formal learning.

We are interested in joining a consortium preparing a proposal for NEB-2026-01-PARTICIPATION-02 as a civil society, community engagement and animal-welfare practice partner.

Our proposed contribution focuses on the inclusive design and use of public spaces shared by people, companion animals and urban biodiversity. This perspective can address challenges such as responsible use of public space, conflicts between people, dogs and wildlife, accessibility, safety, wellbeing, waste, heat, water and the protection of vegetation and habitats.

We can contribute through:

• community outreach and stakeholder engagement;

• participatory workshops involving residents, children, young people, volunteers, pet owners and non-pet owners;

• non-formal education and responsible behaviour activities;

• practical animal-welfare and behavioural expertise;

• volunteer mobilisation and community-based testing of proposed solutions;

• collecting feedback from residents and practitioners;

• dissemination and awareness-raising activities.

We are primarily seeking to contribute our practical expertise as a Romanian civil society partner. If relevant to the consortium and after a joint assessment of the project needs, we are also open to exploring cooperation with an environmental organisation and a local public authority in Bacău County.

We would welcome discussions with coordinators, municipalities, universities, urban designers and other organisations developing participatory and climate-sensitive neighbourhood projects.
