Limak Cement’s R&D journey began in 2010 with the establishment of its accredited Central R&D Laboratory. Since 2022, the Limak Cement R&D Center has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Today, the center brings together over 30 researchers from diverse professional backgrounds, with 23% being women, representing more than 10 disciplines and advanced education levels. This diversity fosters strong collaboration and interdisciplinary innovation.

Currently, the center is managing R&D projects and partnering with esteemed universities, industry leaders, and governmental institutions, creating a dynamic ecosystem for sustainable innovation. Research activities focus on six key areas aligned with the company’s sustainability vision and the green transition:

• Industry 5.0 and Digitization – Increasing efficiency by optimizing systems

• Alternative Raw Materials & Fuel – Innovative environmental products and responsible resource use

• Industrial Symbiosis and Circular Economy – Creating industrial synergies with energy-intensive industries

• CCU/CCUS – Integrating carbon capture, utilization, and storage methods

• Renewable Energy – Following advancements such as clean hydrogen and other new energy technologies

• Industrial Green & Digital Transition – Ensuring a fair transition towards climate neutrality

These projects span all stages of development, from concept to application, aiming to deliver impactful solutions for the industry’s future.
