Municipal living-lab sites for sustainable, inclusive and smart public buildings

Chief of Energy Section at Ville de Lancy

Switzerland

About

Ville de Lancy is a Swiss municipality in the Geneva metropolitan area with an active climate and energy strategy and a diverse portfolio of public buildings. We are interested in joining a New European Bauhaus / Horizon Europe consortium as a municipal pilot-site partner and local public authority.

Lancy can offer concrete buildings and operational contexts for testing, demonstrating and replicating solutions in real public assets, including:

  • schools and educational buildings;

  • nurseries and childcare facilities;

  • municipal public offices and administrative buildings;

  • sports facilities, including stadium-related buildings and swimming pools;

  • community and cultural buildings;

  • selected residential or mixed-use municipal assets where relevant.

We can contribute as a local implementation partner by providing access to buildings, technical data where available, coordination with municipal services, operational feedback, user involvement, local logistics, and support for on-site demonstration activities.

The areas of interest include:

  • energy renovation of existing public buildings;

  • integration of renewable energy systems, including renewable heat and solar electricity;

  • smart building management and optimisation of technical installations;

  • reduction of energy consumption while improving comfort and indoor-use quality;
