About
Gas Metering 3.0 — Device and Network Coverage Enhancement
The challenge aims to advance the next generation of smart gas metering by enhancing both the physical devices and the connectivity infrastructure. Current limitations in hardware durability and network resilience impact data reliability and operational efficiency. We seek solutions that deliver:
Device robustness: Improved hardware and firmware for durability, security, and remote upgrade capability.
Network performance: Optimized communication protocols, reduced latency, and resilience under critical conditions.
Scalability and interoperability: Integration with GIS and asset management systems for streamlined operations.
Expected outcomes include improved data availability and accuracy, increased coverage stability, and a clear roadmap for industrialization with compliance and cybersecurity considerations. Deliverables should include prototypes or solutions for advanced smart meters, a network enhancement plan, and integration guidelines. KPIs will measure data completeness (>95%), reduction in communication failures (>20%), and scalability for large-scale deployment.
