Searching for AI Solutions to Transform Care for People

Director of innovation at Suara Serveis SCCL

Barcelona, Spain

About

Suara Cooperative, a leading organization in care services and home-based support, faces a pressing and high-impact social challenge: delivering high-quality, personalized, and sustainable care in the face of increasing demand and the growing complexity of people’s needs.

How can we leverage artificial intelligence to enhance operational efficiency, refine home care services, and develop innovative person-centered care models?

We are seeking solutions that address any of the following areas:

  1. From Data to Care: AI-Driven Workforce Planning in Home Care Services
A challenge aimed primarily at research centers, universities, and spin-offs, focused on leveraging existing SAD service databases to develop an intelligent decision-support tool.

The challenge is to develop a solution capable of:

    • Analyzing historical SAD data (services, professionals, absences, replacements, holidays, etc.)

    • Identifying patterns and operational bottlenecks

    • Optimizing: holiday planning, staff replacements, resource allocation, and continuity of care

  2. Well-Being Analysis Through Image or Voice – Community Center (Casal TV Project )

Use of computer vision and/or voice analytics to detect indicators of emotional or cognitive well-being among Community Center users. To create a tool that:

    • Analyzes image data (facial expressions, posture, movement…) or voice data (tone, rhythm, variability…)

    • Detects relevant changes in: emotional state, alertness, and potential risk situations or social isolation

    • Supports Community Center staff decision-making (not replacing human judgment)

  3. **Digital Avatar for the Community Center (with Google Meet Integration)
**A digital avatar designed to act as: activity facilitator, guide, interaction support, digital entry point for older adults.

Technical challenge: Integration or functional connection with Google Meet, Real-time voice–avatar synchronization and extremely high usability and accessibility standards

Current status: No clear off-the-shelf solution currently exists. Strong dependency on:Google APIs, Google Meet technical limitations

  • Key considerations: Ethics and privacy by design, Explainable AI and Clear positioning as a support tool, not a diagnostic system

The call is open to:

  • Tech startups and scale-ups.

  • Research centers and universities.

  • Companies offering AI and digital health solutions.

  • Providers of IoT, health, and wellbeing technologies.

  • Public administrations and non-profit organizations.

  • Independent innovators and multidisciplinary teams

What we are looking for solutions that are:

• Scalable and applicable in the care sector.

• Ethical, secure, and GDPR-compliant.

• Technically viable with potential for rapid prototyping.

• Socially valuable, improving quality of life.

Opportunities for participants

• Work closely with Suara in a real pilot project.

• Access knowledge, data, and operational expertise in the sector.

• Visibility at the Mobile World Congress.

• Participation in an international innovation ecosystem.

• Opportunity to pilot your solution directly in real Suara services.

• Potential to integrate the solution into the organization if the pilot is successful, with support for scaling.

• Option to scale the solution broadly.
