Digital Transformation in Ports

Director Consulting Services at CGI

Barcelona, Spain

About

A large proportion of Spanish ports were designed for a different era: a different scale of trade, different requirements and different operating rhythms. Today, global demand requires both physical and digital infrastructures capable of operating 24/7 with high levels of efficiency, traceability and adaptability. In this context, CGI is seeking technological partners capable of driving the modernisation of the port environment through advanced solutions that accelerate this transformation.

The challenge lies in overcoming technological obsolescence and equipping ports with new digital capabilities. CGI is looking for solutions that enable the integration of artificial intelligence for risk analysis, operational optimisation and real-time decision-making; the incorporation of IoT sensors, cameras, digital control towers, predictive platforms and logistics software into environments that are still largely analogue; and the strategic allocation of technology investments in a context of significant fiscal and budgetary pressure.

Technologies of interest include IoT, AI, predictive models, digital twins, augmented reality, and any solution capable of delivering tangible value in port transport and logistics. Proposals must be applicable in Spain and developed by companies with solid experience and mature or scalable technological solutions. Direct competitors or suppliers working for them will be excluded, except in the case of standardised products that do not require the exchange of confidential information.
