About
Agriculture has a key role in achieving climate neutrality while ensuring food security. This project proposes the development of an interdisciplinary MSCA Doctoral Network focused on agricultural carbon credits and climate change mitigation through climate-smart farming practices.
The network will investigate greenhouse gas emissions, soil organic carbon sequestration, carbon accounting methodologies, remote sensing, GIS, UAV technologies, artificial intelligence and digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) systems. It aims to improve the scientific basis for carbon farming by integrating field measurements with Earth observation and digital decision-support tools.
Research topics may include carbon credit methodologies, climate-smart agricultural practices, regenerative agriculture, precision agriculture, digital twins, AI-supported carbon accounting, policy analysis, farmer engagement and economic assessment of carbon markets.
The project seeks to develop transparent, scalable and scientifically robust approaches that can support farmers, policymakers and carbon market stakeholders across Europe. We welcome universities, research institutes, SMEs, public authorities and NGOs interested in building a competitive MSCA Doctoral Networks consortium and supervising interdisciplinary doctoral research.
