About

Tamara Avellan Consulting provides social sciences and humanities (SSH) expertise to strengthen participatory governance, co-creation and policy impact in EU research and innovation projects on sustainability and natural resources management. The consultancy supports consortia in designing, implementing and evaluating participatory processes that go beyond consultation and contribute to transformative, mission-oriented outcomes.

In WATERAGRI, Tamara Avellan Consulting supported the multi-actor approach by structuring stakeholder engagement around sustainable water use in agriculture. This included stakeholder mapping, facilitation of co-creation workshops with farmers, researchers and water authorities, and translating practice-based insights into policy-relevant messages that could inform water and agricultural governance.

In NEXOGENESIS, the consultancy contributed to the design and implementation of participatory governance processes across diverse case studies addressing water-energy-food-ecosystem (WEFE) nexuses. Key contributions included governance assessments, capacity and actor analysis, facilitation of stakeholder dialogues, and the co-development of governance roadmaps and policy pathways to support implementation and uptake.

Across projects, Tamara Avellan Consulting focuses on linking participation to impact: aligning stakeholder engagement with policy cycles, supporting reflexive learning, and ensuring SSH contributions meaningfully inform decision-making, scaling and long-term sustainability transitions.
