Stakeholder engagement and participatory processes

Senior Scientist at Tamara Avellan Consulting

About

I bring expertise in social sciences and humanities (SSH) to design and facilitate participatory governance and co-creation processes in EU research and innovation projects. My work helps consortia transform stakeholder engagement into actionable policy pathways, mission-oriented outcomes, and scalable impact.

I support multi-actor processes from start to finish: mapping and analyzing stakeholders, designing inclusive workshops, facilitating dialogues across sectors, and translating complex research insights into policy-relevant messages. I also assess governance structures, support reflexive learning, and help align project outputs with policy cycles, ensuring that participation is meaningful, not symbolic.

In projects like WATERAGRI, I enabled multi-actor innovation for sustainable water use in agriculture, turning farmer, researcher, and water authority input into actionable recommendations. In NEXOGENESIS, I helped co-develop governance roadmaps across diverse case studies, integrating stakeholder perspectives into policy uptake strategies for the water-energy-food-ecosystem nexus.

Overall, I offer EU projects the ability to move beyond consultation toward transformative participation, combining SSH insights, facilitation expertise, and policy-oriented thinking. My goal is to help research initiatives achieve real-world impact, strengthen governance, and contribute to sustainable management of natural resources across Europe.
