About
Sincan District Health Directorate is a local public health authority operating under the Turkish Ministry of Health, based in Ankara, Türkiye. The institution delivers preventive, community-based and occupational health services with direct access to diverse population groups at district level.
The Directorate has strong practical experience in the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), behavioural and lifestyle-focused interventions, health literacy and community outreach. It provides real-life public health settings for piloting, validating and scaling up evidence-based interventions, targeting young people, working-age adults and older populations.
Within its routine public health practice, the Directorate has implemented population-based prevention activities, digital follow-up tools and community programmes in areas such as immunisation, chronic disease prevention and maternal and child health. These activities demonstrate the institution’s capacity to translate research outcomes into practical, scalable and policy-relevant public health action.
The Directorate serves a population of approximately 600,000 residents, comparable in scale to large European cities or capital municipalities. In addition, the district hosts organised industrial zones with an active workforce of around 100,000 employees, offering a substantial real-life environment for workplace-based and community-level health interventions.
Sincan District Health Directorate is interested in participating in Horizon Europe Health Cluster and Mission Cancer projects as a consortium partner, contributing primarily to field implementation, pilot delivery, stakeholder engagement, dissemination activities and policy uptake.
