Impact Hub Labs MKO

Impact Hub Athens is a social innovation hub and part of the global Impact Hub Network, active in 120+ cities worldwide. Since 2013, we have been locally rooted in Athens and across the Greek periphery, working to bring together diverse and often unlikely actors to co-create solutions to pressing social, environmental, and climate challenges. Part innovation lab, part business incubator and accelerator, and part community centre, we offer a unique ecosystem of resources, capacity building, and collaboration opportunities to strengthen the impact economy in Greece, with a strong focus on equitable cities, environmental action, rural development, and just transitions.

Over the past decade, Impact Hub Athens has supported more than 300 social and environmental ventures, trained over 3,000 individuals in entrepreneurship and upskilling, and built a national and international network of more than 1,000 partners. We have implemented over 70 large-scale EU- and foundation-funded programmes across more than 12 Greek regions, including islands and Just Transition areas, working closely with women, migrants, rural communities, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups. Our work combines participatory methodologies, living labs, and ecosystem-building approaches to ensure solutions are locally grounded, inclusive, and scalable.

We have built experience as a Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) partner in Horizon Europe and Horizon Missions, including Mission Ocean, Climate Adaptation, and climate-neutral and inclusive urban transformation. Within consortia, we frequently take leading roles in communication, dissemination, citizen engagement, co-creation, and impact, as well as task leadership in living labs, pilot actions, and replication activities. We specialise in bridging research, innovation, policy, and society, ensuring that technological and systemic solutions are adopted by communities and embedded in real-life contexts.

Our multidisciplinary team of experts, spanning programme management, facilitation, research, and community building, designs and delivers high-quality participatory processes, entrepreneurial support programmes, and large-scale convenings. Through our physical hub in Athens and activities across urban, island, and rural settings, we activate local ecosystems, support sustainable entrepreneurship, and contribute to resilience, equity, and circular economy transitions aligned with Horizon Europe priorities.
