About
University of Padua's Department of Surgical, Oncological, and Gastroenterological Sciences (DISCOG) is a center of excellence pioneering medical research since 1222, leading European medical research across eight strategic areas: Clinical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Immunology and Tumor Immunology, Transplants and Regenerative Medicine, Surgery, Urology, and Digestive System Diseases.
The department, thanks to its network of 43+ professors and 27 researchers, is a reference point for transplantology (liver, kidney, pancreas) and comprehensive oncology research covering 20+ cancer types, from bladder cancer to melanoma. It supports research activities resulting in multiple patents and participation in prestigious European programs, including ERC grants and Horizon Europe Mission Cancer projects.
DISCOG Department seeks to join as partner in upcoming Horizon calls, by offering its expertise on Precision oncology & biomarker development; AI-driven healthcare applications & multimodal data integration; Cell therapies & immunotherapy approaches; Translational research bridging lab-to-clinic; Minimally invasive surgery & advanced imaging; Geriatric oncology & nutritional interventions; High-volume clinical datasets (Veneto Region platform).
