Human biomonitoring of metals speciation, organic contaminants and microplastics-related exposure markers (ICP-MS/MS + LC/GC-MS)

About
We collaborate in clinical/biomonitoring projects by delivering ultra-trace quantification of metals/metalloids in biological fluids and tissues using ICP-MS/ICP-MS/MS, including rigorous contamination control, low-LOD method design, and uncertainty evaluation suitable for cohort studies. Where relevant, we extend to speciation (e.g., toxicologically meaningful forms) using HPLC–ICP-MS or adapted hyphenated approaches.
For organic contaminants, we support consortium workflows for targeted and screening analyses via LC/GC-MS, focusing on harmonised protocols and quality control for clinical matrices. For the microplastics dimension, we contribute to the chemical/exposure interface: evaluating co-exposure patterns (plastics as vectors of additives/adsorbed organics/metals), supporting integration with partners performing microplastics detection in clinical samples (e.g., µFTIR/Raman, pyrolysis-GC-MS), and building datasets ready for epidemiological/statistical analysis.
We can lead analytical QA/QC and data harmonisation packages: SOPs, proficiency testing design, metadata standards, and FAIR-ready outputs.
