Exposure assessment in biota/food: metals speciation, organic contaminants and microplastics-associated chemicals (ICP-MS/MS + LC/GC-MS)

About
We offer analytical support for biomagnification/exposure studies through trace metals/metalloids determination and speciation in biological and food matrices using ICP-MS/ICP-MS/MS, including strategies to control matrix effects, interferences, and contamination. Where needed, we implement species-resolved analysis (HPLC–ICP-MS / GC–ICP-MS) to improve toxicological relevance beyond total concentration.
For organic contaminants, we contribute to method development and harmonisation (sample prep/clean-up, matrix control) and consortium integration of LC/GC-MS outputs. Regarding microplastics, we support the evaluation of chemical co-exposure: pollutant loads associated with ingested plastics, leachables/additives (in coordination with partners using pyrolysis-GC-MS or targeted additive analysis), and linking microplastics occurrence with contaminant profiles and biomarkers.
We provide SOPs, validation, QA/QC plans, and reporting formats compatible with EFSA/ECHA-style needs and research-to-policy translation.
