Community-Based Citizen Engagement for Climate Adaptation

AUPEX contributes strong expertise in citizen participation and community engagement to support the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. Through its wide network of Popular Universities and close links with local communities, AUPEX facilitates inclusive participatory processes that actively involve citizens in climate adaptation initiatives.

This option focuses on co-design methodologies, participatory workshops and local dialogue spaces that allow citizens, civil society organisations and local authorities to jointly reflect on climate risks and adaptation priorities. By engaging diverse groups, including vulnerable populations, AUPEX helps ensure that adaptation solutions are socially grounded, widely accepted and better aligned with local realities, supporting their effective implementation and long-term sustainability.
