Social Innovation for a Just Water Transition

Hydrogeologist - Researcher at The New Water Culture Foundation

Valencia, Spain

About

The New Water Culture Foundation provides expertise in foregrounding social innovation to tackle climate-related water challenges, together with technological solutions. Its core objective is to operationalise a just water transition, with a strong focus on agriculture and territorial adaptation to climate change. Methodologically, the project is based on knowledge co-production, understood as a collaborative process that goes beyond stakeholder participation by jointly generating knowledge among researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and local communities through living labs. This approach builds on the experience of the EU-funded Tranagro project, which demonstrated the potential of knowledge co-production to advance a fair water transition in agriculture, with solutions that are scalable and transferable across regions.
