About
The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) played a strategic enabling role in the implementation of the EU Mission Ocean & Waters, acting as a bridge between European policy ambitions and regional action on the ground. Through its active involvement in up to four Mission-funded projects—BlueMissionMed, BlueMissionAA, Prep4Blue and CO-WATERS—CPMR mobilised its wide network of regional and local authorities to co-design, test and scale solutions for the protection and restoration of oceans and waters. By aligning EU Mission objectives with regional strategies, fostering cross-basin cooperation, and ensuring policy feedback from territories to EU level, CPMR strengthened territorial ownership, accelerated implementation, and created fertile ground for new partnerships and future Horizon Europe proposals under the Mission framework.
