Community-driven sustainable tourism in coastal and freshwater regions

About
We would like te develop a collaborative project that brings together coastal and freshwater communities, entrepreneurs and knowledge partners to develop new forms of sustainable tourism grounded in collaborative business models, such as e.g. Steward Ownership. Idea is to co-create two to three collaborative business models that link local economic activity directly to the restoration of marine and freshwater ecosystems. Using challenge-based learning, partners jointly work on real-world challenges such as water quality, renewable energy, waste reduction, CO₂ reduction and regenerative practices. The initiative offers partners a concrete testing ground for community-driven, scalable and economically viable tourism models, while contributing directly to the Restore our Ocean and Waters Mission through measurable ecological and social impact.
This project idea relates to the 2027 mission HORIZON-MISS-2027-03-OCEAN-04: Towards community-driven business models: coastal and freshwaters sustainable tourism.
