Implementation of Concrete Adaptation to Climate Change Actions
ADAPTATION TO CLIMATE CHANGE TECHNICIAN at Generalitat Valenciana
VALENCIA, Spain
About
The Conselleria for Environment, Infrastructures, Land Management, and Recovery of the Generalitat Valenciana (GVA) is the regional authority responsible for environmental policy, climate action, biodiversity conservation, water management, and sustainable land-use planning in the Valencian Community. With extensive experience in designing and implementing environmental strategies, the department leads regional adaptation and mitigation efforts in alignment with EU climate objectives. Its expertise includes climate resilience, nature-based solutions, urban greening, circular economy, and environmental governance.
The Conselleria plays a key role in multi-level coordination, supporting municipalities in deploying climate adaptation plans and co-developing initiatives such as the Climate Shelters Network, the Regional Adaptation Plan, and the Green Infrastructure Strategy.
Its technical units actively contribute to national and European projects by providing environmental data, co-creating policies, and developing monitoring tools to ensure evidence-based and socially inclusive environmental interventions.
GVA is also a charter signatory of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change.
We have developed our Regional Adaptation Plan (PVIECC), which includes a set of actions to be implemented across the region. We see EU projects as an excellent opportunity to support the implementation of these actions. The PVIECC is structured into 11 sectors, including Environment, Water Resources, Coastal Areas, Mobility, Health, and Critical Infrastructure. Therefore, we are open to collaborating on any project related to these topics.
