About
Alagene is an industry-focused Contract Research Organization (CRO) specializing in bioprocess design enabled by synthetic biology and genetic engineering. We support bio-based innovation by developing scalable microbial production systems for high-value biomolecules, using a Design–Build–Test–Learn (DBTL) approach.
We contribute to collaborative projects as a biofoundry-type partner, translating biological concepts into robust, scalable, and industry-relevant biomanufacturing routes.
Our expertise includes:
-
Microbial strain engineering
Design and optimization of microbial systems for targeted functionality and/or production -
High-throughput screening and bioassay development
Rapid, automated evaluation and selection of microbial variants -
Fermentation design and optimization
Experimental design, process modeling, and scale-up for robust production -
Downstream processing (DSP) and analytics
Scalable purification and characterization of target biomolecules
We are open to cooperation with academic and research groups, startups, SMEs, and industrial partners. If our expertise align with your project concept or consortium needs, we would be pleased to connect and explore potential collaboration.
