Microbiome based Early Cancer Detection via Extracellular Vesicles
RESEARCH at Istituto Superiore di Sanità
Roma, Italy
About
Our multidisciplinary team integrates expertise in molecular oncology, extracellular vesicle (EV) biology, multi-omics analysis, and AI-driven bioinformatics, with a strong focus on translational cancer research. The group has consolidated experience in:
• Liquid biopsy technologies, particularly EV-derived biomarkers in the cancer and microbiome discovery field
• Next-generation sequencing (NGS) and targeted cancer panels
• Proteomics (RPPA) and integrative multi-omics data analysis
• Advanced in vitro tumor models, including cancer stem cell-derived spheroids to mimic tumor heterogeneity
• Development and optimization of innovative high-sensitivity detection platforms
• Implementation of AI-supported analytical pipelines for biomarker discovery and predictive modelling in cancer and microbiome
• Cooperation and Management of partners for study participants' enrollment
The team operates in a clinically oriented framework, ensuring scalability, reproducibility, and regulatory compliance (GDPR-ready data integration), with the objective of accelerating the clinical translation of non-invasive diagnostic tools.
