Trekking in Kazakhstan

We offer multi-day trekking programs in the Northern Tien Shan, one of the most scenic and accessible mountain regions of Kazakhstan, located close to Almaty.

Our trekking programs are designed in a modern format: compact multi-day backpacking routes (typically 2–6 days) that can be integrated into broader travel itineraries across Kazakhstan.

The Northern Tien Shan offers a distinctive trekking experience, combining alpine landscapes, glaciers, high mountain passes and wide valleys, while remaining accessible without technical mountaineering. The region allows travellers to experience true high-mountain trekking within relatively short logistics and timeframes.

Trekking routes run through largely untouched terrain with no established trekking infrastructure: there are no marked trails, mountain huts or permanent facilities. All camping equipment and food are carried with the group, and overnight stays are organised in mobile tent camps set up daily along the route.
