Navoptix: voyage-optimisation for ships and vessels

Co-Founder at Navoptix at Navoptix

About

What NavOptix does

NavOptix is a web-based voyage optimiser for ship owners and ship managers. Before a voyage is fixed, it computes every route option side by side: distance, transit time, fuel, canal tolls, fuel in emission control areas, and the carbon-compliance cost of each option.

The compliance line is the difference. For each route NavOptix shows the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) allowance cost, the FuelEU Maritime compliance cost at the statutory rate, and the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) grade. 2026 is the first year the EU ETS covers 100% of in-scope emissions. These rules apply by port call, not by flag, so every ship calling an EU port carries the cost.

Who it is for

Owners and third-party managers with 5 to 50 ships that trade into Europe. The large weather-routing vendors serve fleets of a hundred or more. We build for the smaller fleet, where the compliance bill is new and the tools are not.

How it works

- Physics-based fuel model from the vessel's own particulars, drafts and speed-consumption curve, calibrated from the fleet's noon reports.

- Weather-aware routing with Traffic Separation Scheme compliance at the main straits.

- Regulation drawn on the chart: emission control areas, EU ETS scope, and CII grade per option.

- Every figure on screen traces to a computation. When a route offers no saving, the screen says so.

- Decision support only. NavOptix does not replace a verifier or a class-society filing.

What we offer

A paid three-month pilot on two to three vessels on one trade lane. The owner shares noon reports; NavOptix runs in parallel and shows the route, speed and compliance deltas against what was sailed. The noon reports also calibrate the model to each hull.

Who we want to meet at Europort Istanbul

- Turkish and Mediterranean owners and technical managers facing the 2026 EU ETS and FuelEU bill.

- Classification societies and verifiers working on EU MRV, CII and FuelEU.

- Ship-management, fleet-performance and connectivity software companies open to an integration.
