Census Metrics – Smart Platform for Domestic Animal Registration and Policy Analytics

Census Metrics is a smart, traceable platform for domestic animal registration and management, designed to help municipalities and public administrations gain a data-driven understanding of the pet population within their territories.

It integrates GIS mapping, demographic analysis, and trend monitoring to detect abandonment risks, map population density by species and area, and identify behavioral or seasonal patterns.

By connecting with veterinary registries, microchip databases, and local policies, Census Metrics enables transparent decision-making and facilitates compliance with animal welfare regulations.

Developed within Zoometrics’ biodiversity intelligence ecosystem, it complements Meow Metrics (feral cat management) and Wild Metrics (wildlife monitoring) to provide a unified view of animal populations and their interactions with the urban environment.

We are seeking institutional and technological partners to develop predictive analytics, policy design tools, and interoperability with European data infrastructures for animal welfare and One Health initiatives.
