Natalia Fernández

Postdoctoral researcher at Universidad de Burgos-ICCRAM

About

  • Experience in applying and improving the SSbD framework in materials assessment, adapting criteria and endpoints, which could be integrated with LCA from early design stages.

  • Experience in LCA, LCC, and prospective analysis, focusing on chemicals, nanomaterials, and sustainable materials.

  • Capacity to implement MCDA, CBA, Social LCA, and TEA approaches, to conduct an integrated assessment of environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

  • Experience in simulations and multiscale modeling that could be applied to the design of predictive LCA tools at laboratory stages (TRL 3-4).

  • Capacity to design and deliver training on LCA and SSbD, leveraging UCC+i and "La Estación" as outreach centers.

  • Experience in projects with companies from the agri-food, textile, automotive, and bioplastics sectors, contributing to the simplified application of LCA in SMEs. This experience is extendable to other types of end-users.

  • ICCRAM has expertise in biotechnology, electrochemistry, and computational simulation to develop products that align with ESPR standards, focusing on durability, repairability, and recyclability. ICCRAM can provide scientific evidence to support the development of this strategy.

  • Contribution to the implementation of the Critical Raw Materials Act: wide expertise in the evaluation of CRMs (mapping resources, analysis and report of supply chain, demand, risk of supply, substitution strategies and policy and technology recommendations). Part of the SCCREEN, the European Expert Network in CRMs.

  • Expertise in the application of LCSA (Environmental, economic, social and MCDA integration) methodologies to low TRL technologies across Industrial, Zeropollution, NMBP, Resilience, and other H2020 / HE projects (DIAGONAL - Coordinator, DESIDERATA, SUNRISE, CONVERT2GREEN, FREEME, NEFERTITI, FUELS-C, PHYBI, GREENER, BIOMAC, MeBattery, etc.). Prior collaboration with projects such as DIAGONAL, facilitating the integration of developed tools into European databases.
