Expertise in SSbD - HORIZON-CL4-INDUSTRY-2025-01-MATERIALS-51
About
-
Experience in applying the SSbD framework, leading the definition of criteria and selection of endpoints (Step 1-Step 5). This can be adapted to the development of PFAS alternatives.
-
Experience in in silico design and multiscale modeling of functional materials (e.g., deep eutectic solvents, interfaces, 2D materials), useful for exploring safe compounds with specific properties to replace PFAS.
-
Experience in LCA, LCC, TEA, and MCDA to assess PFAS alternatives from an environmental, economic, and social perspective.
-
Analytical capabilities to evaluate the properties of polymers and advanced compounds, verifying that the new proposed substitute materials meet technical requirements for repellency, thermal stability, corrosion resistance, etc.
-
Experience in testing materials under environmental and real operational conditions, including degradation, aging, and stability tests, to ensure that PFAS alternatives are viable in sectors such as construction, automotive, technical textiles, etc.
-
Application of human 2D and 3D cellular models (skin, lung, liver, neuroblast) to assess the safety of new materials against toxic effects (cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, endocrine effects).
-
Experience in working with value chain actors, in co-design and co-creation tasks, considering the perspectives of various types of stakeholders (quadruple helix: academia, industry, public sector, and civil society).
