Innovation Manager at Bondalti Water

About

Bondalti Water is a water and wastewater engineering and innovation-oriented company, supporting public and industrial clients with advanced treatment, reuse, and resource recovery solutions, including process integration and operational optimisation. We combine process engineering + pilot/full-scale deployment + digital monitoring/analytics to accelerate implementation at high TRL in real operating environments.

Proposed contribution to the consortium (what we can lead / deliver)

We align directly with the topic’s expected outcomes—urban wastewater management adapted to climate change, energy efficiency and recovery, secondary raw material recovery, and water reuse at city/regional scale.

1) Demonstration and scale-up of integrated (waste)water solutions (TRL 7–8)

  • Design, integration and commissioning support for treatment + valorisation + reuse “demonstrators” in participating cities/regions, including operational protocols and performance verification.

  • Practical pathways to meet the topic’s ambition to deploy and upscale infrastructures for water, storm water and wastewater, with measurable co-benefits (adaptation, pollution reduction, biodiversity, resource valorisation, energy efficiency).

2) Energy neutrality, energy recovery and GHG reduction for urban wastewater systems

  • Engineering packages for energy efficiency and recovery from sewers and/or UWWTPs, including options highlighted by the topic (e.g., solar, waste heat recovery, biogas from sludge), and strategies for pooling resources at regional level.

  • Support to cities/regions responding to the recast Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive drivers (energy neutrality for larger UWWTPs, stormwater overflow planning, circular economy measures for N/P/water reuse).

3) Water reuse, stormwater management, and nature-based / green-blue solutions

  • Integration of reuse schemes (fit-for-purpose quality targets, barriers, monitoring, risk management) as required by the topic.

  • Implementation support for sustainable urban drainage and green-blue stormwater management, and/or nature-based solutions (e.g., treatment wetlands, storage ponds, infiltration/harvesting), as part of the “minimum three aspects” requirement.

4) Digitalisation, monitoring, and decision-support for replication

  • Data-driven operations: online sensing strategies, analytics, and control/optimisation concepts that turn demonstrator evidence into replicable operating models and investment logic.

  • Development of actionable insights to address administrative/governance/financing barriers and accelerate market valorisation of recovered resources (water/energy/secondary raw materials).

5) Mission alignment, dissemination and clustering

  • Practical support to dissemination/exploitation plans through the Cities Mission Platform, Adaptation Mission Platform, and CCRI-related channels; readiness to formalise collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding as required.
