Platform Content Manager at CaixaForum+ ("la Caixa" Foundation)
Barcelona, Spain
About
Context
CaixaForum+ is the digital platform for cultural content by the “la Caixa” Foundation, featuring a growing catalogue that includes documentaries, podcasts, series, concerts, and other audiovisual formats across a wide range of topics.
Currently, the selection and rotation of content on the "Home page" (slider, thematic rows, recommended, new releases, etc.) depend on manually applied editorial criteria and are not based on data-driven systems or user personalization.
Challenge description
The challenge consists of designing an integral solution —conceptual, technological, and UX/UI design—to organise, prioritise, and automate the rotation of content on the CaixaForum+ Home page, to enhance discovery, relevance, and the overall user experience.
Objectives
-
Define a hybrid decision model combining editorial, algorithmic, and user-behaviour criteria.
-
Develop an automated systemfor content rotation and hierarchy.
-
Propose a user experience that dynamically adapts the Home page to context, user profiles, and emerging trends.
-
Reduce internal management time** and minimise the need for manual selection.
Solution requirements
The proposal should include:
-
Conceptual model: criteria, taxonomies, prioritisation logic, and editorial workflow.
-
UX/UI proposal: mockups or wireframes of the dynamic Home page.
-
Scalability and integration: potential API integration with the existing CMS or OTT platform.
Expected impact
-
To improve relevance, retention, and content discovery.
-
Seamless integration of diverse themes and content areas.
-
Reduction in manual editorial programming time.
-
Progress towards a personalised, dynamic, and intelligent cultural platform.
