About
The Infectious Diseases Research Service (SPDI) at Fundação Ezequiel Dias (FUNED), a public health research institution in Brazil, seeks international partners for collaborative research and development in molecular diagnostics and biotechnology.
WATERBORNE PATHOGEN DETECTION
Development and analytical validation of qPCR-based methods for detecting Giardia cysts and Cryptosporidium oocysts in water samples. This research aims to support water quality monitoring and public health surveillance. Potential partners include water utilities, environmental laboratories, universities, and biotechnology companies.
ALTERNATIVE PYROGEN TESTING
Development and validation of MAT-qRT-PCR, a cell-based molecular approach for pyrogen detection in injectable products. Following Brazil’s regulatory transition toward the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT) for hyperimmune sera, this research seeks to optimize the method and evaluate its analytical performance, operational feasibility, and cost-effectiveness.
COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES
We welcome partners interested in joint method development, proof-of-concept studies, analytical validation, comparative performance assessment, cost-effectiveness studies, and technology transfer.
Potential collaborators include water and sanitation companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology enterprises, and academic research institutions.
