About
CicloTec is a bioinnovation project developing biodegradable mycelium-based seedling containers from agricultural and mining residues as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic products. In partnership with EPAMIG (Minas Gerais Agricultural Research Company) and Samaúma, the project is advancing the validation of this technology for coffee and olive cultivation. Its current focus is on technology scale-up, process standardization, production reproducibility, and performance validation under real-world agricultural conditions. By integrating biotechnology, biomaterials, and circular economy principles, CicloTec aims to transform waste streams into high-value products, reduce environmental impacts, and advance the transition from pilot-scale validation to scalable, economically viable, and commercially deployable technology.
