Roller moving Table Mill and Mill-Turn Machining center

Area Manager at Gruppo PARPAS

Cadoneghe, Italy

About

OMV's Roller is the Portal type machining centre. The longitudinal stroke is 2,000 mm, the transverse stroke 2,030 mm and the vertical stroke 1,000 mm.

The axes are driven by duly cooled linear motors and the movements take place on linear roller guides with a feed rate of 60 m/1'. The head has a continuous working axis driven by a torque motor and is equipped with an OMV motor spindle with power up to 47 kW and torque up to 190 Nm, with speeds up to 22,000 rpm. The inclination of the head is ±110° in the A-axis and, in the deep drilling version, is 0-90° in the B-axis. The machining centre can be equipped with a 1,000 x 1,000 mm rotary table. Or with a 1,250 mm diameter table with a load capacity of up to 3,500 kg. It is also possible to equip the machine with turning version tables, all of which are driven by torque motors.

The standard tool magazine on board the machine is a 42-place one with the possibility of extending its capacity up to 120 places while, for requirements exceeding these, there is provision for up to 300 places with an external rack equipped with an exchange arm. In the deep drilling version, drills up to 600 mm in length can also be accommodated in the tool magazine. The machine can be equipped with pallet changers in different versions, depending on the size and weight of the workpieces to be processed. Already in the basic version are the laser tool setter and the high-pressure system with feed through the motor spindle, as well as the air passage both inside and outside the spindle. Swarf evacuation takes place via dedicated washers, augers and conveyor with side exit. The enclosure is integral with a bridge solution that, once fully open, leaves ample space for handling the workpiece to be placed on the table.
