Forklift retrofit toward 2-strokes hydrogen injection motor
Engineer at Newtimes
France
About
The use of hydrogen for decarbonation of industry and transportation can be achieved thanks to fuel cells, but another way exists: Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines. Newtimes, throughout its subsidiary THOM Motors, develops an innovative solution to transform traditional gasoline or diesel engines into a direct injection, 2-stroke hydrogen combustion engine. The aim of this project is to implement our retrofit kit to a forklift used in the logistic field. The second-hand vehicle will be modified by adding our specific parts (piston, cylinder head, injectors…). Most of the engine remains unchanged (cylinders, crankcase, clutch…). The hydrogen storage system has to be furnished by a supplier.
