Circularity in defence: Reinforcing efficiency & resilience!

European defence needs to drastically ramp-up its capacities and face the challenge of supply chain weaponisation. By helping to make the most of available equipment, components and materials, circular economy is one of the means to improve efficiency and resilience in capability development and operations.

Since 2021, the European Defence Agency (EDA) led INCUBATION FORUM FOR CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN EUROPEAN DEFENCE (IF CEED) has become the widest defence community in the EU engaged in Circular Economy (with more than 300 experts).

From result to mainstream

“IF CEED 2” has put the focus on implementation phase, with five "Starter Projects" that are generating concrete results. Already new project ideas are being incubated to further develop technologies, tools and best practices in support of circularity in defence!

Building on this concrete outcome, shared within the different sessions, the fifth IF CEED General Conference will also take a more strategic view on how circularity can contribute to European defence strategic objectives, with an outlook on mainstreaming best practices.

How do you benefit from attending the event.?

The IF CEED Fifth Annual General Conference ("IFCEED5GC") allows for high-level sessions highlighting the synergies between circularity and operational efficiency, from resilience of supply chains to optimised use of materials. Parallel sessions will develop cross-fertilising approaches to keep liaising productively and igniting synergies among any expertise: from Ministries, industry, research-and-technology organisations, academia, other private and public bodies/entities.

The Conference is also a unique opportunity for networking and initiation of new collaborations.

This IF CEED Conference is organised with the support of the Directorate of Defence of Luxembourg. It benefits of the collaboration with the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) - a joint initiative of the EESC and the DG ENV.

IF CEED is co-funded by:
