HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-02 / 02-05 | Organic experimental farm in France: restoration and biodiversity
Manager | Abbey Saint Pierre Farm at Abbaye Saint Pierre
Mas-Grenier, Occitanie, France
About
Abbaye Saint Pierre in Mas-Grenier, Occitanie, France, offers a working diversified organic farm as an experimental site within a European research consortium and a wider territorial Living Lab. OUR CONTRIBUTION Approximately 12 hectares managed; conservation orchard with 26 fruit species and more than 100 varieties; market garden, aromatic and medicinal plants, field crops, grassland and apiary. We can host agreed agroecological restoration and agroforestry trials, soil-health and water-management observations, and biodiversity or pollinator monitoring under scientific protocols. We contribute farmer-led co-design, practical observations, sampling, usability and labour feedback, field visits and demonstrations. An operational 65 m² workshop with drying, steam oven, autoclave and cold storage supports related food-processing and circular agrifood trials. Scientific analysis and specialist engineering are provided through project partnerships. PARTNERS SOUGHT Coordinators, restoration ecologists, agronomists, biodiversity-monitoring teams and territorial Living Lab operators preparing HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-02, particularly Area B, or HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-05. We can also contribute practitioner participation to relevant invertebrate-decline studies. Our intended role is an experimental farm partner; we seek integration into the consortium’s territorial network and scientific trial design. Trial protocols, site suitability, seasonal availability, responsibilities and budget will be agreed with the consortium. See attached two-page English profile for facilities and experience. https://ferme.abbayesaintpierre.org/ Arumugam Amruthalingam | aa@abbayesaintpierre.org
