NATURE-2027-02-02 | Living Labs for ecosystem restoration, co-creation and multispecies design

PhD Architect. Adjunct University Lecturer at ACEAA – Association for Space, Art and Action

Madrid, Spain

About

ACEAA – Association for Space, Art and Action – is a Spanish non-profit organisation and New European Bauhaus Community Partner seeking to join a consortium preparing a proposal for HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-02 – Living labs co-creating solutions for the restoration of ecosystems addressing implementation bottlenecks and improving resilience to risks.

Our expertise lies at the intersection of architecture, biodiversity, participatory design, ecological mapping, multispecies research, biodesign and experimental spatial practices.

We can contribute to tasks related to:

  • co-creation and participatory Living Lab methodologies;

  • multispecies and more-than-human design approaches;

  • ecological, spatial and trans-scalar mapping;

  • integration of biodiversity into spatial and territorial strategies;

  • nature-positive and regenerative design;

  • stakeholder engagement and community participation;

  • design of workshops, experimental environments and demonstrators;

  • artistic and design-led research;

  • translation of ecological knowledge into spatial and experiential formats;

  • dissemination, communication and public engagement.

ACEAA is particularly interested in Living Labs that connect ecosystem restoration with communities, spatial transformation, cultural practices and new ways of perceiving and interacting with ecological processes.

Our contribution can complement partners specialising in ecology, restoration science, environmental monitoring, governance or risk assessment by bringing design, spatial, participatory and cultural perspectives into the Living Lab process.

We are interested in contributing as a project partner and potential Task Leader, particularly in tasks related to co-creation, spatial design, participatory methodologies, ecological mapping, demonstrators and stakeholder engagement.

We seek collaboration with universities, research centres, municipalities, NGOs, environmental organisations, Living Lab networks, land managers, cultural institutions and other partners working on ecosystem restoration and resilience.
