HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-03: Work package lead for stakeholder engagement, capacity building and carbon farming market links

About
We would love to talk to coordinators and living lab networks building a 02-03 bid.
Why thriveGEO?
Carbon farming demand and Buyers’ Clubs. We lead stakeholder engagement, dissemination and exploitation on Open Geospatial Carbon Registry (OGCR), an €11.5m Mission Soil project with 28 partners building open digital infrastructure for CRCF certification. Part of that work is mapping what Scope 3 and voluntary buyers need before they commit to CRCF credits. We have strong networks with buyers, built through years of work in carbon markets.
Engagement across many groups and countries. On OGCR we’ve engaged more than 100 stakeholders across seven groups, from farmers and cooperatives to certifiers, buyers, and DG CLIMA. The findings now shape how the registry is designed. Read the case study here.
Policy dialogue. We built and run the OGCR Policy Working Group with DG CLIMA ,DG AGRI, EEA and JRC. We also regularly engage with policy makers through various formal and informal forums.
Capacity building that changes practice. We design and deliver training for institutional and private clients, including the French Space Agency (CNES), Natural Resources Canada (multilingual, for wildfire professionals), BASF Digital Farming and the Australian Ocean Data Network. We tailor each programme so it’s relevant and timely, and we measure its impact, not just attendance.
Community engagement at European scale. We run user engagement on several European Space Agency (ESA) Earth observation projects (EOPF Toolkit, APEx), including community competitions for Copernicus users.
Communication that reaches stakeholders. We run communication and dissemination for several projects, including OGCR: the project website, social media, a podcast and webinars. Communication between project partners themselves is a big priority: we keep partners up to date on what’s happening across the project and make sure work packages talk to each other, so insight from stakeholders reaches the people building and deciding.
A bridge to the Soil Mission. OGCR is funded under Mission Soil, and the 02-03 network has to stay open to Soil Mission living labs. We already sit inside that community.
What we’d lead: the network’s engagement strategy and stakeholder mapping, the capacity building programme for living labs, communication and dissemination, and the demand estimates and Buyers’ Club alliances, working alongside a finance partner.
