Can your biodiversity monitoring method work outside the lab? We can help build the tools.

About
A promising monitoring method only makes a difference when people can use it reliably, repeatedly and at a reasonable cost.
Zavod 404 is a Slovenian non-profit with an applied R&D workshop and experience developing custom technical equipment. We are looking to join a consortium where biodiversity researchers have identified a specific monitoring challenge and need a partner to design, build and improve the physical tools around their method.
Depending on the project, our contribution could include sampling and sample-handling tools, simple or semi-automated measurement setups, durable enclosures, practical demonstrators, and iterations based on feedback from field users. We can help document how a prototype is made and used, and support training for the people testing it.
We are particularly interested in HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-05. We would work with ecology and monitoring partners who define the scientific requirements, reference methods and data-validation approach. If you have a method that is difficult or expensive to deploy at scale, let us discuss which part of its practical workflow we could improve.
