Bring young people into nature restoration through making, measuring and local action
Director at Zavod 404
Ljubljana, Slovenia
About
How do the results of a nature restoration living lab become meaningful to the people who live nearby—and to the next generation?
Zavod 404 has spent 14 years bringing hands-on science and technology to young people. We work with schools and communities across Slovenia, combining workshops, practical problem-solving and the design of physical learning tools.
We are looking to contribute to HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-03 and relevant living-lab projects under 02-02. We can develop activities in which young people explore a local restoration challenge, build or use simple tools, interpret observations with researchers, and present what they have learned to their community. We can also create interactive demonstrations and practical learning materials that help living labs share their methods and results.
Our strongest role is where a consortium already has ecological expertise and restoration sites, and wants young people and local communities to take part in a well-designed, lasting way. We would be glad to co-design a Slovenian contribution with researchers, site managers and local authorities.
