WASTE-SEC tool for CL6 topics

Developed by Galanakis Laboratories within Horizon Europe SecureFood (2024–2027), WASTE-SEC uses historical and literature data to simulate how food security drivers affect FLW and FS indexes. Through scenario modeling, users assess impacts, plan responses, and evaluate interventions. It delivers actionable insights, cloud-based analytics, and tailored recommendations to reduce waste, boost resilience, and support data-driven food policy. By adapting WASTE-SEC or developing a new decision support tool, GL can support the following CL6-2027 topics:

--Simulates interactions among economic, biophysical, technological, and socio-cultural drivers to forecast food loss and waste impacts, enabling scenario-based policy and resilience planning across food value chains

-Integrates historical and literature-based datasets with cloud computing to assess systemic vulnerabilities, guiding adaptive interventions that align with EU food security and circular-bioeconomy goals

-Generates comparative simulations and actionable recommendations for reducing food loss and waste while enhancing food security indexes such as the Global Food Security Index
