About

The blockchain is mainly the technology of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and it has received a lot of attention from academia, industry, and business. The blockchain technology has initially focused on the finance sector, but recently companies have realised their potential for other domains, including logistics, manufacturing, supply chains, and procurement. Blockchain technology is a distributed database in which the use of cryptography technology guarantees that the distributed ledger cannot be changed, and smart contracts composed of script code enable transactions to be automatically and safely deployed. It is widely accepted that blockchain technology causes disruptive changes in supply chain management operations and procurement that can overcome supply chain difficulties encountered in realizing information sharing, maintaining traceability in the entire process and improving operational efficiency. However, the concrete application of blockchain technology in the supply chain management is still in early stages
