About
CIOP-PIB is seeking to join a Horizon Europe consortium for the call: HORIZON-CL4-INDUSTRY-2025-01-TWIN-TRANSITION-36: Safe and clean processing technologies and products (Processes4Planet partnership) (RIA)
Our focus is on research related to hazardous chemicals and particulates in manufacturing processes and materials that pose a threat to human health, especially in the work environment.
The team of the Department of Chemical, Dust and Biological Hazards from CIOP-PIB has extensive experience in research focused on reducing occupational risks and adverse health effects in the work environment. We have been conducting studies of chemical and particulate air pollutants for many years, as well as in vitro toxicological studies. These studies are both directed at assessing exposure and occupational risks associated with the presence of harmful chemicals in technological processes and identifying mixtures of chemicals emitted during particularly hazardous or harmful technological processes.
Therefore, we would like to join project consortia in the area of research and measurement of indoor and outdoor air pollutants that could potentially cause carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic effects on human health. This research can be extended to the evaluation of fire hazards associated with products (materials), considering the emission of hazardous substances released during their combustion and thermal degradation, as well as studies of air pollution by nano-objects and their agglomerates and aggregates. We can also offer testing of filtration materials and air filters used in ventilation and air conditioning systems, the effectiveness of ventilation and air conditioning equipment and systems in eliminating contaminants and ensuring proper air parameters in production areas. Additionally, we can propose in vitro studies of new chemical substances, as well as studying and visualizing the effects of chemicals on cell morphology and intracellular structures.
