Seeking partners for Twinning Call on energy management projects

As IZTECH (Izmir Institute of Technology) Artificial Intelligence Research Center we have expertise in designing AI algorithms for forecasting models, model training and optimization, applying generative AI techniques. We would like to improve ourselves with a project on energy optimization and management. We are especially interested in being a coordinator of a Twinning project (HORIZON-WIDERA-2026-02-WIDENING-01: Twinning) and we are searching for leading research institutions from Member States or Associated Countries. Twinning actions intend to raise the research profile of the coordinator institution (IZTECH) from the Widening country (Türkiye).

In Twinning projects, alongside the research budget (30%), collaboration should be supported by a comprehensive set of activities such as short-term staff exchanges, expert visits and short term on-site or virtual trainings, conference attendance, organization of joint summer schools, dissemination and outreach activities.

We have some energy production and distribution companies (eg. EnerjiSA Üretim A.S., Zorlu Enerji A.S.) and main TSO (TEİAŞ A.Ş.) as partners in Türkiye. We can prepare a smart energy system management pilot/demonstration in Türkiye.

We also have CC4E (Competence Center for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency) as a partner from Germany. CC4E has research capability and owner of the demonstration site in Hamburg.
