Offering AI expertise for energy management projects

As IZTECH (Izmir Institute of Technology) we would like to offer expertise in applying AI techniques for energy management. Specifically:

1. To develop and evaluate AI models for accurate short-term and long-term forecasting of wind and solar energy generation within a smart grid.

2. To design and validate AI-assisted decision-making algorithms for real-time optimization of energy dispatch and grid balancing in the presence of renewable energy sources. In addition to numerical and textual data, external information such as market conditions, or unexpected constraints in real-time will be considered.

We have some energy production and distribution companies (eg. EnerjiSA Üretim A.S., Zorlu Enerji A.S.) and main TSO (TEİAŞ A.Ş.) as partners in Türkiye. We are capable of preparing a smart energy system management pilot/demonstration in Türkiye.

We also have CC4E (Competence Center for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency) as a partner from Germany. CC4E has research capability and owner of the demonstration site in Hamburg.

We are seeking consortiums working on smart energy management systems. We are mostly interested in calls, including AI and energy systems management. E.g.

1. HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-19: Innovative solutions for a generative AI-powered digital spine of the EU energy system – GenAI for Energy Management

2. HORIZON-CL5-2026-09-D3-24: Data sharing to support the training and development of AI foundation models in the energy sector

3. HORIZON-CL5-2027-03-D3-25: Large scale operational validation and upscaling of state-of-the-art (Generative) AI tools and models powering a next generation digital energy system

4. HORIZON-CL5-2027-07-D3-26: Advanced TSO control rooms to enhance grid observability, stability and resilience
