About
The Center for Energy, Environment and Economy (CEEE) is a leading research and innovation center at Özyeğin University, Türkiye, working at the intersection of sustainability, advanced building performance, and digital design and assessment technologies. Founded in 2009, CEEE delivers science-based, innovative, and transdisciplinary solutions addressing the climate crisis and resource scarcity challenges in the built environment.
CEEE develops and implements next-generation, performance-driven, and integrated design methodologies to achieve high-performance, resilient, and climate-adaptive buildings. Our work combines holistic system thinking with advanced simulation, data-driven analysis and digital performance modeling, including digital twin–based assessment workflows.
Our core expertise covers:
– Advanced energy modeling, simulation, and calibration of buildings and districts
– Digital performance modeling and digital twin–based assessment workflows
– Smart and adaptive building systems
– Climate-resilient retrofit strategies and deep energy renovations
– Energy-positive and energy-flexible building concepts
– Renewable energy integration and techno-economic optimization
– Building Impact Assessment (BIA) integrating physical, economic, and social indicators
– Occupant Experience Design (OXD) and comfort-driven performance optimization
– Sustainability strategy, value management, and regenerative design approaches
CEEE operates at the interface of research, real-world applications, and policy-relevant innovation. The Center actively contributes to European R&I programmes (e.g. Horizon Europe LEGOFIT) and is positioned as a high-level technical and scientific partner for ambitious consortia aiming to deliver scalable, high-impact, and market-relevant solutions for the built environment.
We are open to collaborating as a core research and innovation partner in Horizon Europe and international projects focusing on high-performance buildings, climate adaptation, energy transition, and advanced digital building performance technologies.
