Fully recyclable closed-loop epoxy resins for applications in composites
CEO at ONYRIQ
Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain
About
Lack of recyclability is a major drawback of commercially available composites. The occurrence of different materials (thermoset polymer matrix, fibers and additives) at microscopic level hinders their separation and recyclability.
ONYRIQ has experience in the design and synthesis of bio-based polymeric composites. We would like to contribute to the solution of this problem by applying new bio-based and proprietary reversible polymer epoxy resins and adhesives that permit the depolymerization of the thermoset resins by chemical recycling leading to monomers and components (including long carbon fibres and mats) by separately.
We aim to spread the applications and features of these new materials and we are interested in participate in collaborative projects with partners having different roles in the circular economy of composites (material manufacturers, waste managers, recycling industry, end-users or designers, among others).
