About
PT’s role is to turn the consortium’s AI and digital-twin innovations into an operational corridor-grade capability that helps passenger transport systems anticipate, absorb and recover from disruptions through real-time planning and information systems. PT will design and implement the project’s integration backbone: acquiring and fusing data from multiple sources and modes, enabling resilient data flows for disruption monitoring, impact forecasting and response-plan execution, and supporting the creation and operational use of scenario libraries for disruptive events and the monitoring of response-plan implementation.
To support the expected outcomes, PT will operationalise the AI components as deployable services, providing the MLOps and runtime layer needed to reach near-operational maturity (TRL 6–7): reproducible pipelines, automated deployment, model/data versioning, continuous performance and drift monitoring, and integration APIs so operators can use real-time analytics to adjust operations dynamically during disruptions and accelerate response-plan dissemination. This operational layer will be designed to measure and sustain the targeted corridor KPIs (e.g., delay reduction during planned disruptions and faster generation-to-dissemination of response plans during unplanned critical events).
PT will also lead the security, safety and trustworthiness-by-design aspects required by the topic, embedding access control, auditability, secure interfaces and operational safeguards, and supporting the project’s safety and security assessments to ensure decisions rely on objective factors while actively avoiding bias. In parallel, PT will help package the solution for uptake through operator-facing tooling and integration support for the project’s guidelines, emergency simulations and training programme (including contingency-planning catalogues), and will contribute to alignment with transport data-sharing initiatives such as the European Mobility Data Space (EMDS) and FAIR data practices for project outputs.
