About

In this Societal Readiness pilot, PT’s contribution will be to turn the project’s AI forecasting innovations into an operational, secure and scalable socio-technical solution for collective self-consumption and energy sharing. While algorithm development and social-interaction modelling will be driven by the relevant technical and SSH partners, PT will ensure that the forecasting capability can be implemented and sustained in representative conditions, bridging the gap between research outputs and the day-to-day realities of energy communities, jointly acting customers and grid stakeholders.

PT will lead the integration backbone that enables grid- and consumer-friendly energy sharing: establishing robust data ingestion and harmonisation flows (e.g., metering, distributed asset telemetry, flexibility signals), exposing interoperable APIs for forecasting services, and delivering the runtime integration needed to feed actionable outputs into community energy management and grid-facing interfaces. This directly supports the topic scope, where AI-driven forecasting should optimise bidirectional energy transfers involving flexibility services, helping consumers and communities participate actively while keeping DSO and residual supplier burdens reduced. wp-8-climate-energy-and-mobilit…

To meet the IA ambition and the expected TRL 6–8 trajectory, PT will implement the project’s MLOps and operational engineering layer: reproducible pipelines, environment automation, model and data versioning, deployment patterns (cloud/edge as relevant), and continuous monitoring for performance and reliability. This “industrialisation” layer is what enables the consortium to credibly claim not only improved accuracy, but also upscaling of AI tools/models for grid balancing and forecasting, and tangible contributions to operation and maintenance of the grid and distributed assets.

Security and trust are central to adoption in energy sharing contexts, so PT will embed security-by-design across the integrated platform: access control, audit trails, secure interfaces, and operational safeguards that allow different actors to collaborate with confidence. This strengthens societal uptake by supporting transparency and accountability in how data and forecasts are used—complementing the project’s Societal Readiness activities and enabling the SSH-led work on diverse-group needs and trust to translate into concrete system features and governance practices.
